Hi guys

A little advice please. Was sleeved 3/22/12. Since then lost 83 pounds. Everyone stressed I lost too much too soon. All bloods are perfectly normal and doc says will slow down when good and ready. It has slowed to about 1.8 pound a week.

Anyone else had similar experience.

Hi

I have lost 88 pounds since 13 March 2012 but I dont by any stretch of the imagination think it is to fast.In fact it feels like it has slowed down to a snails trail and I find it very frustrating.

I still have 40 pounds to lose.So for me it wasnt too fast.

How much do you still have to lose?

What was your surgery weight? What is your weight now? I think it really depends on how much you need to lose. Those who are heavier will lose more weight pretty quickly as oppossed to those who 'only' need to lose around 60-80. How do YOU feel?

You weight lose sounds great, I on the other hand have lost 50.4 pound since 4/11/12. The docs are happy but he tels me not to worry about the weight lost because the goal that I want should be reached in a year. He tells everyone the weight gain did not happen over night. So look at your inches and the weight on thescale make sure that you are eating health beause it helps with the changes. This way you would not put the pounds back on.

Good luck on your journey

I was sleeved 3/19 and have lost 83 which is only about half of what I need to lose. I think it will slow down as you get closer to goal weight. Have you added exercise into your schedule?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
