So far so good the pain is still there now what I'm dealing with is that I'm so tired and have bad traped gas pains :( all I just want to do is sleep but I do get up and walk and drink and take pain meds my question is how is everyone's first few days going?

I was sleeved the 21st. Every day is better, but I think the real turning point was the 6th day out. I just woke up feeling much better. I've really focused on drinking 64 oz daily and i think thats made a huge difference in how i feel. Getting dehydrated causes nausea and a bunch of other issues.

Yesterday I was allowed full liquids so I've been concentrating on getting 60 grams of Protein so my energy level can come back. I'm a bit worried because I haven't lost any wieght since I was sleeved. But I lost 30 pounds in 3 months pre-op, so I'm pretty sure my body is just trying to figure out what happened.

Take things slowly, don't push and overdo things. Right now staying hydrated and healing are your two most important jobs.

I was sleeved on the 23rd and had the worst gas pains... They will get better around Day 5. I couldn't sleep at the hospital for two days but when I got home I slept in a recliner for a few days... Take your pain meds for the gas and walk, walk, walk....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
