Hello,

Isopure when you buy is it tjust sold in packets and you have to make it or does it come in bottles? Where is the best place to get it as I called GNC locally and they sell only by the case for like 36.00 no flavors and will not sell individual bottles.

If you are in Chattanooga do you know where I can get them locally? So I have it ready for my surgery.

Hello All,

dI ecided to be creative and I put the vanilla glucerna in the blender with ice and added sugar free banana creme powder to it and boi does it taste good:Banane23: :wow2: What other kind of flavers can I add to it?

I tried the butter pecan and don't like it very much trying ot think how I can doctor that one up too? Also the chocolate ? It does not say I can add any fruit such as strawberries or bananas? Would that be considered cheating ? If put them in the blender as I am new so want to make sure that won't defeat the purpose or is sugar free pudding a better idea.

Thanks Larry I know I have posted alot over the last few days but it is helping me to get through :)

I've been able to buy Isopure from local GNC stores in the individual bottles. It comes in several flavors. I'm not that crazy about any of them, but the Apple Melon is drinkable and is even better if I cut it about 1/3 with white grape juice.

I also believe that Isopure makes several powder Protein drinks that come in the larger containers. It was quite pricey and I decided on a different brand that suited my needs at a somewhat lower price.

If your surgeon is suggesting you to use the Isopure liquid, I would call their office and ask them where you could by it by the individual bottle. All band doc's are different, but mine only suggested I use it for about 3 days, so a case would be waaaaaaay more than I would want to buy.

I'm not in your state (but hey, my mom was born in Tennessee! is that where you are?) but, I hope this helps a little bit.

Terry :D

I get all my supplements/shakes/drinks at www.nutricraze.com

They're quick, the prices are competitive and the shipping is reasonable!

Try bariatriceating.com they sell samples. nectar- fuzzy navel is good, they have several brands. You will find people either LOVE or LOATHE their supplements. Personally I do not like Isopure. There are several on the market I do like but it is one of those things you have to do a trial on. My suggestion to you is not to buy too much of any one product.

post op your mind and stomach do not agree. What tasted good to me pre-op doesnt sound or taste too good now that Im post op. One of the most important things post op is to NOT VOMIT. That takes some work if your trying to force yourself to drink Protein that is yucky. Get some samples for post op if you can tolerate them you can always get more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
