Which Protein is better? Which flavors are better? I tried a sample packet of nectar 'Fuzzy Navel'..ughh....did not like it at all. I already tried Isopure 'cookies n cream' it was ok, but I am getting sick of it. I need to try a different one. Please help!! Thank you.

I like the Unjury chicken broth flavored powder...particularly when I mix it in liquid chicken broth, instead of Water. I bought a big bucket of the Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel, and can barely stand the taste (thanks to everyone on here who said it was wonderful...blech!). My favorite Protein Drink is the ready-to-drink chocolate Muscle Milk Lite...it reminds me of a melted chocolate shake, but no guilt! :)

I guess everyone is different and you have to decide for yourself because I've tried unflavored unjury and could not stand the taste. It's definitely not flavorless. I can detect a difference in the taste and I could not tolerate it. I got excited reading how so many people on here like it and ordered two canisters for $80 and ended up having to pay $20 to send them back.

I would recommend going to Trader Joe's or Sprouts. You can buy individuals packs of Protein powder there. I also ordered samples from Chike Nutrition and My bariatric pantry and they were pretty affordable.

Hey if you have a Vitamin Shop (sorry IDK where you are) but you can buy out of their refrigerated section on any RTD's (ready to drink drinks) and if you don't like it, keep your receipt and w/in 7 days, return the container with the receipt and they'll credit you your money back.

As for Protein powders, "they" say they are as different as people in the world, as are our preferences. I liked unjury strawberry Sorbet, but after a while, I tried to watch the calories and I like that with milk. My dr. gave me some Chike samples that are 'ok' (hey you can't beat free). But the chicken Soup Unjury IS good. Just don't nuke it in the microwave or heat your Water too much or it curdles.

nectar Syntrax was good, I bought a vat of the latte but it's sitting here now. I also got unjury unflavoreds in order to make Protein jellos and puddings, but after a while, in all honesty? All protein powders made me sick. I just switched as my diet progressed to real protein sources (i.e. fish, shellfish, chicken, meat).

Oh another popular RTD Protein Drink is Premier Protein shakes. You can get them at costco or Sams. I liked Vanilla (but now it's too sweet). I also liked Muscle Milk lights but many many many a person says they are disgusting. My apologies, but keep trying them. You will find one for yourself. But yes, try the samples. And Vitamin Shop!!!!

Good luck!

nectar & Unjury are both the highest quality Protein you can get. As far as what tastes better, well that tricky. I definately think all sleevers should have a container of Unjury chicken Soup, it's a great break from all the sweet Proteins. Unjury chocolate Splendor really does taste like chocolate milk and when mixed with almond milk it is pure heaven. I'm not a big fan of the strawberry sorbet, just too sweet for me.

As far as Nectar goes, I'm kinda hesitant. Fuzzy navel was actually my favorite from them. I also liked the cherry & the chocolate truffle.

I'm on the pre-op diet phase (2 weeks) and surgery is tomorrow! I have been using the Unjury Vanilla, chocolate and chicken flavor. I really like them and they met the requirements that my doctor specified for the Protein drink that he wants his patients on. They do sell a sample pack for $20 to try. You do have to order the drinks online though as they don't sell in the stores. I also bought the unflavored to mix in with my foods during my puree phase - but I haven't tried it as of yet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
