I noticed some days my restriction is a lot more than other days. My food choices of course Protein first ( about 90gm/day) and carbs I try to keep under 40gm. So for the most part I think I'm doing good. However how come the same food I can eat today with ease can sometimes be a bit difficult on other days. I find some days I'm a lot fuller even though I've hardly eaten anything than the days I eat alot more. Now I'm not talking slider foods or bad choice. The same daily menu on one day (good choices) much easier on one but not on another. Does this happen to anyone and if so can one explain the science behind that. Just curious.

Im barely 3.5 months out and the other day I ate 6 oz of ribeye and felt satisfied but not uncomfortable. Then later I eat 15 grapes and I'm stuffed. It's weird.

What is considered "slider foods" and I am assuming they pass through to quickly?

@Readytolose2012--Slider foods vary from person to person but usually chew down to mush or melt, so you don't feel restriction--like chips or ice cream--so you can eat loads of calories.

I'm 19 months post-op and it still happens. I have noticed that tension or anxiety tightens up my stomach, but other times I have no idea why. It seems to balance out, though--a day of only being able to eat a little is often followed by a day or two of eating more, and vice versa.

I have noticed this alot. It is definitely weird. Some days I can't eat much but there have been a few times I have been very surprised by the amount I could eat. I think this is why measuring is important. I had my first cheeseburger since surgery about 7 months ago last week and it was probably a 4 ounce burger with patty, bun, and cheese without veggies nd I was able to eat 3.25-3.5 ounces of it before feeling full. I was a bit shocked but i think the bread slid on by lol and the Protein was probably only 2 oz of beef. Then today I had a bun less burger patty about 2 ounces of meat and I was stuffed. Weird!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
