Feeling Humiliated....

Recommended Posts

I had to write a board exam....n d centre was in a govt school (im from India) ...and unfortunately my roll number landed me in a room wch was a classroom for class 4 students.... The desks were soooo small...even the "normal" size candidates were having trouble adjusting....it was HELL for me...a 8 hour long exam... While trying to fit in a kiddy desk....ughh!!!

Been there!!! Especially the folding desk thingy- I could barely take notes... I found the aisle seat was slightly better because I could slide my girth out the aisle side so the person next to me was more comfy... But I almost fell over once in one that didn't have arm rests on the aisles... I just kept sliding out towards the aisle!!! Then I started coming in last and sitting on the side aisle steps! This was much better because I could rest against the wall too!!! But ask the lecturer first so they don't bring it up in front of everyone!!! This will work much better as it seems like your just being polite not squeezing past everyone during the lecture...

Best of luck and log this in for a non-scale victory after your sleeve!!!

If it makes you feel less alone, I actually broke two stools at my favorite Indian restaurant. Two! It's a small restaurant so they only have a counter and stools. It was just like that diner scene in the movie "There's Something About Mary". I was surprised they didn't ban me from the restaurant. And what's worse is that the last time I went there, I noticed they had replaced the old stools with ones that were super-reinforced industrial strength designs. I don't know if they were trying to accommodate me or give me a hint.

Did you mean the movie "shallow Hal"? I've seen both of those movies a couple of times.

OP I'm barely squeezing into regular size chairs that have arms. I'm geting surgery Tuesday and I'm looking forward to sitting comfortably.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
