Going for a pap test tomorrow. This has never been my favorite thing (like it's anyone's FAVORITE THING) but I haven't had one in a while and I'm quite nervous. Do you think the doc would object to me bringing my own robe? I'm wayyy too big for some tiny paper blanket and gown. Also, I'm so nervous about getting in stirrups... last time I did it, I was like 75lbs lighter. This is gonna be awful. :(

Any tips, support - anything is appreciated...

Also, have my psych eval Wednesday. I hope to get some answers tomorrow about where we go from here... wish me luck!

It's not the most fun thing but it's pretty quick and painless. I actually always schedule mine before they have to remind me. It just makes me feel better to have it done regularly.

As far as the robe, the only objection I think they would have is for sanitary issues. Not that you are unhygenic, but that's why everything in a doctor's office is disposable. When I go, they usually give me two gowns, one over the front and one over the back. And they have pretty big blankets so that's never been a problem. However, just remember that the doctor is basically going to look at your entire body anyway so there's no real reason to worry about covering up. Between a breast exam, a pelvic exam and the Pap itself, you're all exposed. I know it's not the best advice, but you will be fine! And it will be over before you know it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
