lollyfidy1965 402 Posted August 28, 2012 Doesn't Midol have ibuprofen in it? If so, its off-limits for me....my surgeon doesn't allow NSAIDs of any kind after surgery (increased risk for marginal ulcers, which are very nasty).
tonya9969 38 Posted August 28, 2012 It has Acetaminophen , caffeine, and pyro laminar maleate
lollyfidy1965 402 Posted August 28, 2012 Gotcha. In that case, I'd be sure to clear it with my surgeon before taking...just to be on the safe side!
deb_fox 42 Posted August 28, 2012 I wouldn't take it. I would try tylenol. I know it's not the same, but you don't want to risk anything. I know all Doctors tell us different things, but I was told to stay clear of Acetaminophen and caffeine.
kmbrlycool 214 Posted August 28, 2012 I was told both are a no go. Shortly after my surgery I had horrible period pain. I was told to take Tylenol or put a heating pad on my stomach. They said if it was really bad I could take one of the painkillers I was given for my surgery but no midol or pamprin.

I know all Doctors tell us different things, but I was told to stay clear of Acetaminophen and caffeine. Tylenol IS acetaminophen and it's okay to take... Midol and Pamprin I thought were NSAID's which is what you want to stay away from....
