It took me a little longer to sleep on my stomach. I'm 8 weeks post-op and I did not sleep on stomach until the 5th week. And I still mostly sleep on my sides. For some reason I'm still not completely comfortable sleeping on my stomach.

Thank you all for your responses. Maybe I just need to start being a baby and try it. I've tried turning to my side and I feel like im pulling my stomach, so i just stay on my back.

I can't sleep on my back, so I tried my side right away and had no real problems. My tummy was a little sore when I slept on it, so I sort of hugged a long, king sized pillow and that helped a lot. Good luck!

I'm on day five and can barely sleep on my side. I'm normally a side sleeper but even with a pillow I can't get comfy so I've banished myself to a spare suite and I have half the pillows in the house propping me up and one big one over my tummy so the cats won't step on me lol.

About 10 days after is when I went flat out not propped up my loads of pillows and folded quits I have 2 body pillows so had one either side of me to cushion when I tried to sleep my normal way I was fine did it that way till I was 8 weeks out then moved them back to just prop my leg and elbow on.

I sleep with body pillows to support my leg to help my lower back and hips.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
