allmyjoy 21 Posted August 27, 2012 I'm not an expert by any means, but i would have to vote NO!
amusgrave 22 Posted August 27, 2012 Its starting to scare me. I'm losing way too slow and Im only two months out and have already stalled like 4 times.
lollyfidy1965 402 Posted August 27, 2012 Sorry if this sounds tough, but.....You might want to take a second look at your diet recommendations from your nutritionist/surgeon...I'm betting neither of those is on it. Do yourself a HUGE favor, and do your best to make HEALTHY food choices! Your sleeve isn't going to cast a magic spell, and cause you to lose weight. Your weight loss is entirely dependent upon your ability to eat healthfully, both in terms of content, and quantity. (And I totally understand cravings....I've been jonesing for a corn dog for a couple weeks...I just haven't gone and gotten one!!) Best of luck to you
Giselle3264 175 Posted August 27, 2012 I'm no expert either but I also vote No. Corndogs are fried and have lots of sweet yummy batter. Yes, one of my favorites. If you look at the carbs and fats, I trust you'll see it won't help your weight loss. Also a sandwich with what? Maybe two slices of bread? Also not the best course. Basics like baked fish and baked chicken with a vegetable fixed in a healthy way is more in line. I'm sure you're already doing this, but maybe the occasional corn dog or sandwich are slowing you down. Oh, and don't forget 64 oz of Water. These processed foods tend to have more sodium. That water makes a world of difference for me. Good luck and hang in there!
allmyjoy 21 Posted August 27, 2012 you may want to reconsider your food choices. I'm not saying "diet" my nutritionist says not to diet just pay close attention to my food choices. We have a chance to start all over, treat like you would a baby. Would you give your two month old a corn dog? LOL
amusgrave 22 Posted August 27, 2012 I know they aren't good choices but like everyone I've messed up a few times.. I'm talking about the amount of food. ur girls are cute.. Another thing any good websites or ideas on good meals.
Giselle3264 175 Posted August 27, 2012 Sometimes your choices influence the amount. I was stuck in the airport Sat and bought junk food for the wait because I can eat so little now. Surprise! Those Doritos and chocolate sticks went down and left me searching for more. Many hours later I had chicken salad and my restriction was back! My fav receipes are on theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. Enjoy!
keldolbeth 262 Posted August 27, 2012 Bariatric Foodie has a recipe for WLS-friendly mini-corndogs. I haven't tried it yet but I'd like to! Just Google her if you haven't seen the blog.
ShapeShifter 64 Posted August 27, 2012 theworldaccordingtoeggface.com has great ideas for Bariatric Eating. Best to avoid the carbs while in the losing phase. I've read that keeping your carbs at 40 grams or below is best for losing... also Protein first, then veg, then fruit... then you shouldn't have room for the stuff that stalls your loss. Good luck! tiredsushi 12 Posted August 28, 2012 How long does it take you to eat it? I've noticed if I take longer than 30 minutes to eat meal sizes go up. But if I eat 2-4 ounces in 15-20 im stuffed you might want to use a timer to know when to finish eating
