smb 75 Posted August 27, 2012 I'm scheduled for surgery on Wed and it's Sunday night now. I feel like I might be getting a UTI. Will this postpone my surgery? Maybe if I ignore it, it'll go away.
peppersleeve 1 Posted August 27, 2012 I think you need to tell you doctor. You don't want to go under with an infection.
tonya9969 38 Posted August 27, 2012 Ignore it- absolutely not!! Tell your surgeon do they can treat it before Wed!! You have time to flush it! Otherwise it could spread during surgery .

Maybe if I ignore it, it'll go away. A) Start taking a cranberry supplement. drink a gallon of Water a day, and c) tell your surgeon! They're going to insert a catheter and catheters can cause UTIs, but in your case you already have one so it can spread the UTI to your bladder/kidneys and speaking from experience, don't let it go! I had a UTI about a month ago and I let it go with just AZO and it turned into a HORRIBLE kidney infection - bad enough to the point where I was hyhaving to take percocet for the pain - NOT fun at all!) smb 75 Posted September 1, 2012 As it turns out, I told the surgeon during my preop appt, and he gave me an antibiotic, no worries. I was mainly concerned they'd postpone the surgery and I definitely did not want that!!
