I used to be a smoker and i was able to quit. A few weeks ago stress cauggt the best of me and i slipped up and smoked a few cigarettes!!! My surgery is scheduled this week and i don't know if i should cancel it or what!! I will be over a week out no smoking and as stated it was only a few. Everyone in my family thinks i will be ok but i wanted to get opinions on here, anyone have any thoughts?

Just tell them then its up to them to decide or be prepared in OR.

I was never asked to stop and I smoked right till the op well the morning of the drive to it.

They need to know if you smoke because you can throw problems in the OR like needing different or more medication to keep you under etc

You can bleed more so they need to know and you can also take longer to come around after.

They need to know for oxygen levels in your blood so best advice is to tell them and let them decide if the slip up was too risky and they push it back or if its not too much of a problem and go ahead with the op with all the information and any problems it might kick up while in the OR.

Honestly, go ahead and give them a call to explain what happened. Smoking can affect everything that sassy mentioned. I would not hide it from them.
