KikiCC 83 Posted August 27, 2012 I am 7 weeks out and I have never gotten sick. Its hard for me to tell my "full" signal, but then I never eat over 4 oz or 1/2 cup. For the first time, I ate like maybe 2/3 of a cup. I didn't feel any different the first few minutes, but quickly I realized that I had eaten too much. My tummy is making these alien-like loud noises, and I am breathing deeply so it all doesn't come right up. At risk of sounding like a child, I am scared of getting sick. I've read is quite awful after gastric sleeve. What can I do to make it feel better!!! I feel yucky!!!!!!
lollyfidy1965 402 Posted August 27, 2012 The only thing I've found (to avoid the feelings you've described) is to eat tiny bites, chew them like mad, and eat VERY slowly (to give your body time to recognize, and tell you, when its "full"). I'm nearly 10 weeks post-op, and am still only able to eat 1/2 cup of food (say, 1/4 cup of tuna fish, with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese) at a time...and only 2 oz of dense Protein ("meat") at a time...and it can take me as much as 45 minutes to an hour to eat that. The only time I feel that "I'm gonna die" feeling is when I rush eating....its truly miserable, and worth missing! Best of luck!

traceyc 89 Posted August 27, 2012 It should pass. Just stand or sit very straight. Walking lightly helps when I over eat too. The nosiness gets less after you are further out too. 1 Livinglifeout reacted to this
traceyinflorida 499 Posted August 27, 2012 No one likes to throw up, before or post sleeve- but I will try to ease your fears of it happening. It has happened to me twice and while it is not fun, you do feel better afterward. I found sucking on a sugar free pepperment has settled my stomach. I am quickly learning to slow down and chew thoroughly like lollyfidy1965 suggested because I never want to feel that way again. I hope you feel better soon! tara1021 13 Posted August 27, 2012 And vomiting bc you are too full is not like when you are sick. It comes up very easily. I'm 8 weeks out and still get sick 2-3 times a week. Mostly bc I've eaten too fast, therefore too much.
