Have You Sold Clothes Online?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had much success with selling their old clothes online? Ebay, Craiglist, etc. I have TONS of clothes I need to get rid of. I went through all of them a few weeks ago and wasn't in a hurry to do anything with them. However, it turns out I'm going to be moving in a month now so I want to start getting rid of stuff as soon as possible. I have so much stuff I'm using two consignment shops, donating some, giving a box to a friend and still have more I want to try to sell online. Ridiculous, I know!

Does anyone have any tips? I've taken all of the pictures I just don't know what to do now! Has anything in particular worked for you? Pros and cons of online versus consigning?

Also, if you are looking for sizes 26-30 I have LOTS to offer. Hopefully I can get a link posted soon.

Even before I was sleeved I put all my clothes up on eBay. I used to work at a forever 21 so I had closets full of clothes that I just never wore. I am usually pretty successful

I have been selling my clothes on the NZ equivalent of eBay. It always works for me and I feel better about buying new things when I know I have made money on old things. I only sell good quality items, and given that they are plus sizes I try and include measurements of items I am selling as often sizes are meaningless. I tell people that I am selling because I have lost weight and usually say when I bought the item and the brand.

Last week I sold 10 items and made $230. It felt great this weekend to go and buy a new pair of jeans and three new tops. I only spent $86 as I went to an outlet store and of course now that I can buy from regular stores clothes are so much cheaper than my usual places. Prices like that it won't bother me if I only wear them for a couple of months!

I've been using the free photo sharing site, Flickr, to advertise my clothes on this site and Craigslist. I've had some hits, though I'm anxious to move more and get the space back in my guest closet! I'm planning to take them to some friends' yard sales this month, and a Goodwill-sponsored community sale. Hopefully that will get them moving!

For those that have used eBay, do you do a reserve (pay a fee) or just take bids? I'm considering it for a ew high-end items I have.

If you're looking for clothes from S/6-2X/22 take a look at mine!

For high end items yes! Some of that stuff is too expensive to basically give away. Other than tht I just start the bids at 5$ and go from there. Most of the stuff is from either forever 21 since I worked there or urban outfitters Victorias secret ect. They're just collectin dust in my closet so whatever I get for them is better than bothig

Yes! I just started selling my things on eBay. I price things according to the item, most of my stuff is garage sell priced since it is 'gently used.' And to me, thats what eBay is supposed to be... America's internet garage sale. ;)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
