Joisey01 87 Posted August 26, 2012 I see the doc 8 days after surgery. I can have up to 3 weeks off. I will ask for 2 weeks but I honestly think I will be back in less. I've had laparoscopic surgery before. I do, this time, have a desk job. I have the great type of job where I can fully do the liquid diet without any kind of interruption. LaBelle509 326 Posted August 26, 2012 I stayed home for six weeks because my insurance allowed it and my doc signed for it. I could have went back by week five if I had to. But again I do not do any type of lifting at work. I do not have to walk or stand for long periods of time. Three weeks seems kind of early. Your body needs a lot of rest at first. Joisey01 87 Posted August 26, 2012 You're a nurse in the ER? Oh boy. You may want to take the full time off you can. You have a strenuous job. If you don't take care of you, you can't take care of patients, my friend. Take that into consideration. 1 LaBelle509 reacted to this
