Why Lap-Band To Sleeve?

Recommended Posts

Just curious Why so many of you who had the lap band are now going to the sleeve. Really just curious, I know the lap band is not for me. Thanks in advance for sharing your stories.

I personally think most banders got the band cause they didnt want the RNY. Then they found out the band is horrific but still don't want the RNY...... the sleeve is the answer!! I love mine!

My band slipped.... I was tired of going in for adjustments.... I didn't want the slip to happen again.... And I needed to make a lifetime decision to lose weight, and keep it off..... And I'm only 4 days post op and happy I did it :)

I have had my band for 5 years and am very worried about the long term effects that could happen. At the time I got the band the sleeve was not available. When I got the band I really didn't think about long term and they don't tell you how difficult it can be to get the right amount of Fluid. You either can eat too much or can eat too little BUT only of the wrong foods as the healthy ones can't go down.

I am very ready to get the sleeve and am happy that there is no maintenance with it like the band.

Thanks for your stories. One of surgeons I considered doesn't even do them anymore just because he doesn't feel they are effective. do the remove the band and do the sleeve during the same surgery. Best of luck with your new sleeves!

Yes they will do it in one surgery.
