You can get back over with your birth certificate. A passport does remove the potential for hassle. BTW good to see you here.

I don't think you can get back over with a birth certificate anymore. I believe things changed about two years ago...

They can't ultimately deny a citizen entry if you can prove your citizenship BUT they can make it difficult and can detain you up to 72 hours.

I went to TJ alone and was fine!! I didn't have problems with my sleeve or recovery though. I found for the most I was bored being alone. I found another patient going at the same time so I did spend time with her and her husband which helped too.

Is it a hassel to get a passport in a hurry?

Nope, go to Walgreens and get a pic, take it to the post office, fill out form, pay fee & hand over birth certificate. Then wait 4-6 weeks.

Also call to make sure which post office handles it. Not all of them do. Plus for a bit more most post offices can do your pic also.

They do have an expedited service, I forget the fee though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
