I'm Not Hungry, I Don't Want To Eat

Recommended Posts

I am feeling something and can't quite put my finger on it. As I sit here eating my veggie burger I all-of-a-sudden did not feel like eating (it is still on my plate), I just wanted to stop :huh: ... and I know I am suppose to get in at least 60 grams of Protein and I am barely half way there. What's going on?

Morning Star Farms is a fave of mine not to mention it is NOT CHEAP.

Any thoughts? Anyone else gone/going thru this?

Yup- don't buy anything in large amounts, even if you used to like it a lot pre-op.

I retained a lot of my tastes, but some folks completely lose any desire for things that they used to like.

Keep in mind that most folks can't get to 60 grams by eating food, it often takes a supplement to get there - pick a Protein drink you like, or add the powder to other things you make to increase your numbers.

Your primary concerns should be pretty much like this:

#1 - Water

#2 - Exercise

#3 - Protein

#2 & #3 can be interchangeable, and shouldn't be completely static like I'm suggesting - you just have to figure out where your new balance is and work with it.

Thank you.

That is something to think about and work on.

I get in the water...do a lot of walking (can't afford the price of a gym - yet), and as for the protein.... working on it.:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
