Hello All day 2 of my preop plan

Recommended Posts

:puke: Good Morning All,

My name is Larry and I live in Chattanooga TN I am 36 years old and I have not been banded. My surgery is Septmeber 29th at Memorial Hospital by Dr. Walter Rose.

My first day on the preop plan was not to bad some of it is a mind thing I even did the shopping for my partner and got the things I need.

I am excited and nervous at the same time never had surgery before but have a male trainer at work who had the surgery and he has done very well. :clap2:

I know this is the time in my life and ready to make those life style changes and committments. I lost my mom in May and she made me look small as she gave up on life and finally her heart gave out. My mom always wanted all her kids to be happy and know in my own way this is a legacy to my mom so I will live a fully happy healthy life and do the things I want to do and to be able to take care of myself.

So as these two weeks go on when things get shaky I think of the big picture and that helps me to get through. I know I may need a friend or two to listen. I am trying to stay occupied and not think about food.< /p>

I love to hike, and do active things but as I have gotten older it is harder with my weight. Right now I currently weight 350 and that was when I met with Surgeon beginning of August and yesterday went to my primary doctor and with my shoes on this time I weighted 350.

Feel to email me anytime I love to chat with peope.

Take care

Larry

Hey Larry,

I am set with my surgery this Monday 9/18 at Brookhaven, Patchogue, Long Island, and can not wait! Right now I am not nervous but I am sure when Monday rolls around I will be! My goal is to drop 125 lbs by next year. I hope to have at least 40 lbs by April for my wedding. But this is not the reason why I am having this done. I need to feel better, all the pains and aches need to go. I need to be able to walk without being out of breath. I have done every kind of diet you can name. I wish you much luck and if your interested you can email me any time.

Thanks

Alwaysleo

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
