Little Casual Friday Victory!

Recommended Posts

Totally random story yall may appreciate.

A month ago I bought 2 pairs of skinny jeans from Old Navy, size 22 and size 20. I decided 20 were too tight and returned them. I went to put on the 22 today for work and they were kinda tight too but I thought they would loosen a bit once I moved around. They did and I started thinking I looked pretty good!

I got to work and went to the bathroom and I realized that these are the size 20 and I returned the wrong pair and the 20s fit and looked good!

Little victories help me through the day!

If you notice in my profile pic, I'm wearing a red long-sleeve shirt. This picture was taken last fall when I was around 260 lbs. Now that I'm at the halfway mark towards my ideal weight, I wanted to take the same exact pic (next to the statue of Morgan Freeman) with the same clothes on as a "dramatic contrast" pic. I thought the shirt would still fit; however, when I tried the shirt on I nearly drowned in it.

Awesome victory Lisabelle07! That must have felt sooooo Awesome!!

@gustavo52874, You need to wear something that fits you now for that picture! You've lost a lot of weight so far so you have to show it off by wearing something you are not swimming in because it will hide some of your accomplishement. Time to buy a new red shirt! Still waiting to see that new pic with Morgan! Make sure you save your jeans though! When you reach your goal, I love the pics of people standing in their old jeans with room left for an extra person! Mine are the only thing in my closet I haven't given away. That, and a few outfits I held on to from skinnier days that I hope to fit into once again (and then get rid of because they are so out of date!!)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
