Broke my butt.....

Recommended Posts

Well, I finally have the nerve to show everyone. I took a major fall and slid down my deck steps when they were wet LAST week. I am okay but moving VERY slowly. I also scraped up my back and knocked the wind right out of my sails. Still can't sit on one side yet (the cheek so I sit a bit with a slant). Here is a picture of my butt for your viewing pleasure.... (keep in mind that these bruises are over a week old so just imagine....)

Jenna, it looks like you were expecting to still have the old padding catch you. You are looking very thin by the way....~Mandy

Awww, thanks. I credit the butt crunches for the shape though. That makes me feel good especially since I gained back 5 lbs. Band is a little loopy lately. Tight one minute, open the next.

I think you are right though, I was thinking I had more padding and I would have bounced back up just pissed off rather than writhing in pain at the bottom of the deck steps. Oh, by the way, have I told you that our deck is about 15 feet off of the ground?

And THIS bruising was after a week and 1/2!!

But wanna know the funny thing? The way I have to sit now (on one cheek) makes me remember the days of not fitting into chairs with arms well (during my heaviest) and having to sit sort of sideways.

OUCH! I've been there! I fell down a flight of stairs and hit my butt against one of the steps. Those bruises aren't going to heal quickly...mine lasted for over a month. You can try Arnica for the bruising. It's homeopathic and really helps with the bruising. Those who've had PS might have been told to try it for the swelling/bruising.

Sorry about your butt cut!

LOL, ok fine, it's not a cut but bruise doesn't rhyme.

You do have a purty booty tho. I'm way jealous!!! Go on girl with the booty crunches!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
