diochick 40 Posted August 23, 2012 I haven't come across a thread like this yet, so I was wondering what others have done to keep their rings on their fingers during the "inbetween" stage (post surgery, yet no where near goal). My ring has been slipping off my finger, there really isn't anything holding it in place. I don't want to go without it, and I don't want to pay for a jeweler to resize it, when in a few months the potential is there that it will need to be resized again. Any good quality products, or tips anyone can recommend? I've googled different products but everything just has such negative reviews, I don't want to spend money on something that doesn't work. Thank you 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Happy Camper 266 Posted August 23, 2012 Great question, I have been struggling with this as well. I have tried the plastic ring sizer from walmart..no go. Totally uncomfortable then I used a bandaid wrapped around. Figured next would be yarn. I just wash my hands a lot and so I can see that getting funky very quickly.... Maybe our sleeve friends have some ideas!
BeatrizS1974<3 sleeve 94 Posted August 23, 2012 If you take the ring to the jewlers they can put a ring guard in it. They have some that are not permanent. They are fairly inexpensive too maybe 10 bucks at the most. 4 Darkkyss, Happy Camper, MoreganK and 1 other reacted to this
Darkkyss 33 Posted August 23, 2012 Check with a jewler, My grandma's weight went up and down because of medication. I had found a gold band adjuster "thingy" sorry not sure what they called it. But it worked wonders she was able to wear her rings up till she passed. They had it in gold and fit nicely inside of the ring and it flexed a little bit. 1 Happy Camper reacted to this

Happy Camper 266 Posted August 23, 2012 I never even thought about going with a chain! I think I will just go to the jewelers....thank you!
Cookeeeeez 269 Posted August 23, 2012 Lol, no worries! As I've yo-yoed I've had to resize my jeweller over and over! I'm thinking of getting some of my bigger/older pieces remade when I reach my goal into something special Maybe a butterfly for the transformation?! 1 kmwheel reacted to this
LeaveItToSleever 80 Posted August 23, 2012 I had to move all my rings onto fatter fingers.
Ijam75 102 Posted August 23, 2012 I had my band resized, so no more worries about losing it. It only cost $35, why not just get it sized a few times along the way? Sent from my mobile productivity killer.
Raven21 121 Posted August 23, 2012 I haven't been able to even get it off for at least 2 years. There's a permanent indentation around my finger that it sits in. Kinda scary sometimes.
vsginnj 415 Posted August 23, 2012 My jeweler soldered two small balls on the inside palm side they are removable and don't damage the ring
Supersweetums 1,164 Posted August 23, 2012 I know it will sound crazy, but I used bandage/wound tape wrapped really tight (the kind I had to tape my incisions after surgery). I couldn't afford to keep getting my wedding rings sized as I lost weight (Where I am, it costs over $60). Because the tape is a little like plastic, it really didn't get yucky...and once in a while I would change it. I went from a size 9.5 to a size 6.5! At one point, before I taped it, I went to go point at something outside and flicked my wrist in the process...my ring flew right off!! 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
bratvp63 118 Posted August 23, 2012 I have mine ticked away for now. I am almost at my halfway point and don't want to size it more than once. When I was pregnant with the twins I had to have it cut off and then repaired and resized up. Not sure how much they can take. I wear a different ring now in its place untill I feel comfortable enough to have them size mine.
danyelleb 386 Posted August 23, 2012 I have a solid wedding band. I just keep moving it to different fingers. I wore my band on my middle finger. Now it fits on my pointer finger. Lol. I think it drives my hubby crazy, but he doesn't complain much. Lol. I think he'll probably draw the line if I start wearing it on my thumb! I don't think that'll happen though as I'm getting closer to goal. 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Dooter 1,457 Posted August 23, 2012 Same problem here. Tried the plastic thing. ICK. Tried the metal sizer that the jeweler put in. Made my left hand numb for some reason. :/ I keep putting it on my middle finger, but it's high profile, so i keep catching it on stuff because of the new location. I'm thinking it's going to have to go back on the chain around my neck it used to live on when I was pregnant. Hopefully it'll only have to live on there for another 6-12 months.
