Lucabelle1313 36 Posted August 23, 2012 Have been doing great 9 days out and I just started having horrible pain in my left shoulder. I have a heating pad on it now. ????
helgaready 34 Posted August 23, 2012 For me my left shoulder pain was trapped gas. I walked for about 15 minutes...walked again about half hour later about 15 minutes more...and it subsided. As I understand it, you need to release the gas back into your system in order to pass it. Gas X strips will not help the shoulder. Hope this helps.
Lucabelle1313 36 Posted August 23, 2012 It is hurting on the top and goes away with my pain meds. It is hurting kinda up in my neck under my ear. Is this normal.

cynthia4722 74 Posted August 23, 2012 Can you call your doctor? They will tell you what you should do. I know it is scary. I will keep you in my prayers. Cynthia
Lucabelle1313 36 Posted August 23, 2012 Is yours any better Cynthia ? How long has it lasted? Did it go away with walking? I had back paint for about 4 days after my surgey that felt about the same as this and it went away?
Texarkolina 201 Posted August 23, 2012 You should call your doctor---there is no way you can tell if it is gas or a leak. Most of the time the gas is gone by 9 days out. Question---has your drain been removed? I know most have by this point, but mine was still in at 9 days out and was the source of a ton of left shoulder pain for me. 1 helgaready reacted to this

helgaready 34 Posted August 23, 2012 Short of going to see your doctor there is no way to tell whether it is a leak or gas. As others have said, I would suggest you follow-up with your doctor. I do hope it is only gas...I wish all my fellow sleevers only happy healings...steady weight loss and exciting new leases on life...Keep us updated. We are all thinking of you... 1 lessofmeismore reacted to this
Texarkolina 201 Posted August 23, 2012 If your drain is out contact your doctor. You may need a swallow study or something to rule out a leak. I hope it is nothing serious, but better safe than sorry.

Caradina 65 Posted August 30, 2012 I'm 5 months out, and still get occasional left shoulder pain. I've been leak checked many times, no leaks. It mostly happens when I'm hungry actually. Very weird. My doc said is ok. I would go get checked out anyways though.
