Cookware For Wls Folks

Recommended Posts

I'm getting interested in cooking after my surgery (3 weeks ago). I recently bought a mini loaf pan and mini muffin pan to be able to make smaller quantities. I use a lot of recipes off of Eggface's blog, and these work great!

Has anyone else bought cookware that will help them make smaller meals?

I am interested in buying Rachel Ray's cookware:

Not cookware (yet) but I did pick up some new glass food storage containers for taking small portions to work. I saw a tiny cast Iron skillet that I may get eventually. I imagine using it for a tiny frittata or cute little omelettes.

I didn't have the surgery yet but thinking about this as well. I like to cook myself and hope that I would be able to do so couple days after surgery even though I cannot eat it yet but I will cook for kids and husband. so my new addition to my kitchen was new food steamer. so I can cook there without using oil a lot. and even when I can eat puree and mashes I can do fish there and just use blender to blend it.

I have http://www.amazon.co...d=ATVPDKIKX0DER they are good. I bought they originally to do Creme brulee. and I like your option on Rachel ray. I probably end up with some of them as well.

I also got some cute little containers and a bento box to take small portions of food in to work... I pack the food up the night before and grab them in the mornings...

I went to Marukai looking for little bento boxes and found egg molds. You put a still-warm hard-boiled egg in the mold and pop it into cold Water. Once it settles you pop out the egg and BAM, it's shaped like a fish!

You can find all sorts of shapes on Amazon:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
