vondb 7 Posted August 22, 2012 I am 8 days out on full liquids and I am hungry. I'm tired of all these pudding, popsicles, etc. I want some Breakfast foods any suggestions.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted August 22, 2012 I had to revisit my food plan to remind myself of what I could eat at what stage. It was such a pain. Can you eat some watered down oatmeal? I still love my Protein Shakes in the AM. I'm 10 months out.
vondb 7 Posted August 22, 2012 I hate those shakes, I'm not getting enough Protein I think. I'm also thirsty all the time.
MegInNOLA 531 Posted August 22, 2012 I hated the shakes too. You can make your own. Greek yogurt, milk, some powdered milk for extra Protein (or if you're brave, a dollop of Egg Beaters--it's pasteurized), flavoring, ice, zap in the blender. Not as much protein as a prepared Protein Shake, but real food, and you can flavor it to your own liking. 1 RawrrAshleex3 reacted to this
HalfTheWoman 107 Posted August 22, 2012 At 10 days out I could have mushies...so I had some very thin oatmeal and grits. You could possible blend an egg if your surgeon approves. It all depends on the doctor. You have to be patient and remember a whole lot of it is head hunger. I really suffered with this because during my first 2 weeks my daughter and her kids stayed with us and they ate pizza, spagetti and everything I like and it was around the 4th of July. I would just get up an go to the bedroom. I also had Tomato basil Soup which was yummy!
Nate 292 Posted August 22, 2012 When I was on full liquids I was allowd to eat Cream Of Wheat for Breakfast. It just couldn't be real thick. Funny thing is before surgery I never liked the stuff. But afterwards on full liquids when I was wishing I could actually eat anything it was a godsend. Give it a try. Good luck! 1 HalfTheWoman reacted to this
RawrrAshleex3 137 Posted August 22, 2012 How about apple sauce or carnation instant breakfast? Making your own drinks is a fantastic idea!!! Theres a thread on here with A LOT of different Protein Shake recipes! I've been having a problem with quenching my thirst and my NUT said chew/suck on plain ice yesterday. are you sure it's real hunger or head hunger? You shouldn't feel hungry so soon after :/
vondb 7 Posted August 22, 2012 It may be head hunger. My family is eating everything they are not being sensitive at all and that may be part of my problem. This is also back at work week and I snack here constantly.
RawrrAshleex3 137 Posted August 22, 2012 Head hunger has been my hardest thing to overcome, especially since my fiancé eats like crazy and my grandmother is forever telling me "just eat something already" (she knows I'm not allowed to yet and it's hard because we live with her) Have you tried talking to them? Can you walk away? I know it's hard when things smell delicious. At work can you bring sf candies to suck on? I like werthers caramel apple, sun kist orange candies, and mints (all sf!) and when I need to chew, I'll have a mambo here and there (careful they have sugar!) some like gum, but it bothers my new tummy. 1 HalfTheWoman reacted to this
