So, how many carbs, calories, etc. Are we supposed to have after the sleeve? I am 300lbs, 5ft 4 1/2 and female. So do those things matter?

Also, what are we supposed to count mostly, carbs or calories or both?

I just want to be a little smarter when it comes to knowing what to keep track of. I know I should already know these things, but...help? Please & thank you!

I'm getting sleeved Thursday. But my nutritionist goes by the 60/60/60 rule:

60 grams of Protein per day minimum

60 oz of Water per day

60 min of walking

With the carbs and sugar:

Carbs 4 grams per serving maximum

Sugar 4 grams per serving maximum

Get good quality Protein Shakes like Isopure, Optimum Nutrition, Dymatize, ect.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the 60/60/60 rule. Easy to keep up with when I think of it that way.

This is perfect advice. Everyone is different and some do need less carbs per day to lose, however these rules are a good starting point.

I did exactly this (except my Water intake after the first few months went up to around 100 oz per day) and I lost all my excess weight in about 10 months time. Also of all my workouts, walking has ALWAYS been my greatest fat burner. Not even running (though I did do that...) but walking.

Good luck to you!

I was sleeved yesterday and started on the Water and Protein this morning. They wanted 1oz of water and 1oz of protein every hour. It sounds soooooo much easier than to do it. I started water at 6am an protein at 1030 and so far I've only gotten 7oz of water and 2oz of protein. And with just that I feel like I just finished a steak dinner it absolutely crazy!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
