ikwa 13 Posted August 23, 2012 me too. I cry seeing my hair clog the drain during showers. I want to know if it grows back. Can anyone tell me? Maybe a person a year or so out?
tbooker 2 Posted August 23, 2012 Hi All, I am a licensed cosmetologist and before you get upset with your hair loss, on average you lose anywhere from 80 to 100 strands of hair per day that's normal. If you are losing more than that 100 per day it will taper off. Surgery is shock to the body and this can be a side effect make sure you continue taken your Multivitamin. And yes, it will grow back! Cookeeeeez 269 Posted August 24, 2012 My dermatologist gives my scalp injections fortnightly to make hair grow back :/ (had a huge round bald patch on back of head after pneuminia hospitalisation). After 6 weeks i am finally seeing regrowth, although derm said 6 weeks is about normal... Because its growing back he said Biotin supplements were probably a waste of money and there is some Biotin in my swisse multi anyway... I've also upped Protein shake to regrow.... But I do think 80% or so of hair def. grows back on its own

Check with your doctor or baratric coordinator as to how much you should be getting a day. I take Biotin and use the Shampoo too (I found at Whole Foods). Good luck!!
 LindaS 316 Posted November 26, 2012 I was worried about Hair loss before I had my surgery. Not long after my surgery, I talked to my cosmetologist about it. Before surgery, I had very thick hair. I started noticing excessive loss when I was about 3 months out from surgery. To be proactive, I talked to my stylist about the best cut to minimize hair loss (or the appearance of it). I normally get my hair thinned, but I stopped that for a while too. I also quit coloring my hair for about the first 10 months. I didn't want to weaken anything further than surgery already did. I cut back on how often I washed my hair (every other day instead of daily), and I took Biotin and listened to my stylist. My stylist was also able to recommend products that would help. I was glad I talked to her and teamed up with her on the issue. She was also able to reassure me that my loss wasn't drastic. I made sure I had plenty of Protein too. My Doctor said it was because of the huge drop of Calories to my system that caused the Hair loss. But the body adjusts after 4 months . I got a new short hair cut but it is still thinner than before I had surgery. With my thinner bod, I cannot complain too much! I am going to try Biotin.< /p>
 Create an account or sign in to comment You need to be a member in order to leave a comment Create an account Sign up for a new account in our community.
