Hi,

I am new here. I have a question. I have had four fills, and I thought four was what I needed because I finally started feeling some restriction. It seems like I felt more restriction the two weeks immediately after the fill than I do now. I wonder if I need another. I felt restriction at first, but now, not so much. Anyone have any comments? Thanks

Sorry I don't have any answers for you. I have pretty serious restriction following my 2nd fill. I have 1.75 cc.'s right now, and feel very little change from the restriction I got right away with this fill.

Mainly I thought this would bump your question, and maybe someone else would have an answer. if not maybe when others show up in the morning.

I hope you find some answers!!! Good Luck!

Kat

It is entirely possible that you have less restriction now than two weeks ago. My doctor says that if you can eat bread, you need a fill. Well...that's what he used to say. Now he does a swallow test under fluoro.

How much do you eat in the course of a meal? Are you hungry between meals? What's a typical day's menu like for you? If you can eat even close to what you did before you were banded, then you probably need another fill.

Hi Beth, welcome to LBT. Question, what size band do you have and how much fill do you currently have?

Hi,

Thanks for any help. I do feel restriction at meal times. What concerns me is that I can still snack at night. I could have some popcorn, a popcicle, and some licorice and not feel any restriction. That seems like too much. I know I shouldn't snack like that. I am surprised that I can though. I would say I eat maybe 1/2 of what I could eat before at meal time. But maybe be able to snack the same as before. What do you think?

Beth

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
