Is it possible to stretch out my sleeve? I feel like I have and I really don't want to ask my surgeon of fear he will yell at me for gaining weight back. Does anyone know if you can stretch it out for good. I can eat so many chips, crackers, etc. just like I did before surgery.

The question is why are you eating them? The food you are eating are slider foods which means they are not good for you

Do a search on slider foods, that's what chips and crackers are. Quit eating them.

And don't be afraid to talk to your doctor. Doctors don't yell at grown ups, but grown ups aren't afraid to talk to their doctor. Quit eating junk. Start eating right. Your sleeve is not stretched. You will feel the restriction if you eat solid Proteins and not junk.

Uh...why are you eating chips and crackers? Is this just a joke? Well, before I lambasted for being snarky, I have to say if this is a serious post...you're in trouble.

Sorry I asked. It's not a joke. I came here for support not criticism.

Hey, what's happened?

I found your post form 6 month ago

How did I succeed? It still sounds funny to my ears to hear that I succeeded. Thank you. Let’s see if I can sum it up. Now, this is my experience and opinions only. I ate/eat per day: minimum 75 grams of Protein, no more than 50 grams of carbs, and I don’t count fat grams - not sure why I just never did. I journal my food intake, Water intake, moods, and energy level. When I’m not journaling daily I know I’m off track. I have to journal – that’s just me. I really hate to exercise and don’t get nearly enough. However, I do think I’ll need to start tracking and “doing” more exercising to lose my last 13lbs. I’m very weary of slider foods such as: chips, Cookies, cheese crackers, etc. Once I start I can’t stop. I’m a carb addict. Once I stop eating “bad carbs” for a few days then the cravings subside (but never gone). Protein keeps me full. So always have to remember to drink my Protein Shakes and eat dense protein. I try to get at 64oz. of water a day, but I have to tell the truth, I usually fail at this. But I keep trying. Well, that’s what I can think of right this moment. Hope it helps in your journey.

where is the person who wrote it? Come on.... I am sure you can be back on track. put the picture of yourself before surgery on the refrigerator and ask yourself DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE THIS AGAIN??

It's not criticism, but based on the little bit of information there is nothing wrong with you other than bad eating habits. You just need a kick in the pants.

It's ok, you can be that person again.

Tomorrow is a new day. If you mess up, try again.

Getting off track and gaining some weight does not mean your doomed.

Things happen, and now its time to get back on track.

Have faith!

I had surgery 10/25/10. I'm not new to the site. I mostly just read the posts. I'm not much of a poster but I am really struggling so I thought I would reach out.

I support you We're not obese for no reason, it's because we have made poor choices. Your sleeve is a tool, to restrict you from eating so much, not to help you make healthy choices. That is up to you on your own. How long ago were you sleeved? I was sleeved this March, and can't eat crackers, breads, rice, or pastas....it hurts. It is possible to stretch your sleeve, but don't freak out too much, you can still make this work. Try staying away from the "slider" foods, and see what happens. :D

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
