Neese 75 Posted August 21, 2012 I was told no NSAIDs forever because we are at in increased risk of stomach ulcers. Personal friends of mine say their doctors haven't mentioned anything to them, though.
DEZ1975 170 Posted August 21, 2012 My Dr said wait one month and then it's fine. He said it's the main reason people with chronic pain opt for the sleeve over bypass; because ou can still have Ibuprofen.
CatchersMommy 0 Posted August 22, 2012 I was told no advil tablets because they are harder for your new tummy to break down but advil gel caps are ok.
lollyfidy1965 402 Posted August 22, 2012 I was told no NSAIDs ever again (also no oral steroids)...because of the increased...and very real...risk for terminal ulcers. While I was in the hospital, after my surgery, one of my room mates was in for surgery to repair a nasty bleeding ulcer....from taking 2 Advil! Having shared her experience (from across the room), you can rest assured I will never take an NSAID....I don't ever want to experience what she went through!!! Capt Derel 287 Posted September 11, 2012 I take gel caps but only when I really need it. I dont take pills much at all unless absolutely nessasary. I opt for liquid or injectables because I Centrum and Iron pill cause me to have severe pain in my stomach. Which Advil and gas x cured. Thank god
