meg33 4 Posted August 21, 2012 I'm having such a hard time eating without drinking. I was doing great Pre-op but it's a struggle now. Did this happen to anyone else?
Randi 21 Posted August 21, 2012 YES - it is hard, but you'll get it. I don't always wait the full 30 minutes before a meal, but I try to go 30 minutes after a meal.
LaBelle509 326 Posted August 21, 2012 At first it's not easy, but it is a good habit to have. So keep at it until it becomes a second nature to you. Really helps keep acid down and reduce acid reflex.
*susan* 1,709 Posted August 21, 2012 For me, it is easy not to drink and eat. because if I drink anything while eating, I become really, really uncomfortable. Generally, I cannot drink anything until at least an hour after I have ate.
CoolBreeze 154 Posted August 21, 2012 It is hard not to drink while eating. I have to catch myself because there are times when I may start to cough and reach for the Water - that is getting up to go get the water. My NUT said if you have to drink...sip don't just drink it, sip it and only about a couple of sips then put it down and away from you. 1 Ljp reacted to this
titania1215 9 Posted August 22, 2012 For some odd reason I do not have a problem with this, like *susan* if I drink when I eat it is very uncomfortable! Pre op I tried to eat without drinking and was never successful. But if you have to teeny tiny sips
muzikmkrii 2 Posted August 22, 2012 I also have a issue with this. I was a big drinker to begin with, before, during and after. This is a hard habit to break. It is uncomfortable when I do it so that does force me to think about it more.
