I'm glad I found this group. I'm having surgery on Monday June 23rd at Centennial with Dr. Olsen. I'm having lap band to sleeve revision surgery. I'm very nervous, excited, and anxious right now.

I work at Centennial. Want me to come visit ya?

Hey everyone - i had surgery Thursday morning and so far so good. Not too much pain. I have had some nausea but that is getting better. I can't eat very much - maybe about a teaspoon or two at a time. I've been sleeping a lot...and just resting if I'm not asleep. My doc is Dr. Westmoreland - he is wonderful!

I loved dr westmorland...he did most of my post opt visits bc my surgeon Dr Eckles retired :) that is a wonderful group of people !

I had my surgery Monday, it was at St Thomas Midtown, had a wonderful Dr Charles Morton, and hospital, staff. The only thing I am dealing with is the pain from the drain. That place hurts, but it has to heal. I'm just not a patient person. I would like to find a support group that meets on Thursday day or nights. If you know of one please post the info, thank you.

Hi there! I've recently moved to Memphis and am looking for a few local sleeve buddies. My surgery was April 4th but I've quite honestly been doing horribly with my lifestyle changes. I'm down 40 pounds and I'm not gaining, but I am far behind where I should be. For the past week I've been working hard at getting my diet under control and working more activity into my day. I'm often at Shelby Farms dog park if anybody would like to get together for some walking!

I'm having surgery on May 22nd, Dr. Woodman is doing my surgery! My wife juts got sleeved on May 13th so I've been watching her, so I know what to expect ha! Looking forward to my surgery ready to get it over with! I was told to lose 18lbs and I've lost 32lbs, at times I think man I just lost 32lbs without surgery do I really need this, but then I'm like yeah might as well do it that way I don't relapse ha

All the best to you and your wife. Dr. Woodman is an awesome surgeon. He's a bit blunt but its necessary.

I was sleeved by Woodman and never had an issue with him until my last visit. He came into the room complaining about the lady he saw before me had been, "eating ice cream" and then he went on a tirade about how i had only lost 5 lbs since my last visit and how I wasted my time and his by having the surgery. I will not go back to see him again. I have followed his guidelines as best as I can. I dont eat crap, I excercise, I get my Proteins.....i have not gained an once and I have lost 10 inches from my waist....also went from a 3x shirt to an XL. .....i didnt need any discouragement from somebody I am paying. .....BTW....he charges $500 up front and my insurance said he is not allowed to do that. Like I said, I will not see him again.

Dr. Westmoreland did my sleeve yesterday! He is amazing. The Heritage Medical staff were beyond exceptional! I had wondered how it would be at such a small hospital but they were all great. I'm from Dickson Tn. How are things for you now that your a month out?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
