Yes!! It was really bad in the first couple of weeks post op but has gotten a lot better. I have noticed that I still get cold much easier than I used to. It's a welcome change to hot and sweaty, especially since I live in Florida!

Yep. I don't freeze so much during the day, but at night when I go to bed, for some reason I freeze for about an hour or so. I used to sleep under a sheet, now I use FOUR blankets and still freeze. Beats hot and sweaty.

My husband came home from work the other day and said wow its hot in here! Lol there i was laying on the couch all bundled up in two throws...i immediatley turn and tell him im freezing because i knew he was going to go and turn the thermostat down. He stopped looked at me and walked away lol my thermostat said it was 84 degrees...every since surgery i havent been needing to turn the ac on too much because i stay cold. I even started turning the ceiling fans off :-\

It is caused by the reduction in ghrelin as this is not just the hunger hormone but the hormone that regulates body temperature. It will settle down after a full year of seasons! (or so I am told, lying her in socks and with a big blanket!)

My mom had the DS ten years ago and she is still always freezing! We may have to just get used to being chilly on a frequent basis!!

I use my electric blanket more than ever. I LAN to get an electric throw for couch this winter. Since the sleeve in feb. Only way I got warm was high temp on electric blanket. Since it's warm out. I'm not cold. I also found. If I'm cold. Walking or going to gym warms me up. Only time I sweat is when I workout at gym now

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
