The incisions all look good! The only one that even hurts is where the drain was, and that was just taken out yesterday morning. :-)

Sorry for the late reply. I was offshore first thing this morning. I walked up to the desk clerk and asked if I could board first due to surgery and they fixed me up with a good seat by the window

Today is my one week surgerversary and I weighed yesterday (Fridays are my weigh days) and I was down 11.2 lbs since the morning of my surgery! And I lost a little over 5 lbs on the pre-op diet, so 16 lb all together! I'm pretty damn excited. I know it won't always be like that, but I'm happy for the jump start! I'm feeling really good and was actually already given the ok to eat purée. Thank you guys for your support :-)

I didn't say he didnt use the bougie, i said I didnt know if he did and never heard it mentioned so I am very very pleased to see here that he does. I am feeling absolutely perfect, no problems of any kind, so he definitely did something right :))

I am so happy for you Meg.. welcome to your new life :)

I was sleeved by Dr Almanza on Sept 5 and he used a boughie with me too. I believe his literature states that he does and indicates the size. I had a very good experience and was well taken care of. their communication can be a bit lax but I have no regrets and would do it again in a minute. made some great friends that i hope to maintain contact with, Most fun was a special shopping trip put together just for us to Ensenada and the blow hole ...it was awesome! yep not everyone felt like going but those of us who did enjoyed every minute of the tour.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
