Well I am a little confused. I am now six weeks out today. And I am now able to swim and workout. ( already have been) I understand that within the first five to six months it is normal to lose up to 60% of your extra weight. The bummer is that on my two week check up I was down 26. And now at 6weeks im only down 38. Everything slowed. But I feel great. I did have a stall. Maybe it's still lingering. My dr said my goal should be 100lbs. I'm just worried that I'm doing something wrong. Ever since they told me to drop a Protein Shake and have something every 2-4 hrs. Which I do. And I am basically on Atkins. I get all my Protein and Water

Idk what do y'all think? Thanks for your input

Stalls are normal during this time frame. Also, if you weren't active before but have now started exercising, you may be adding some muscle as you burn off the fat. The muscle weighs more than fat, therefore the scale will not move as much. Don't worry, it will start moving again very soon.

Keep exercising, get your Protein and Water. Watch the starches. You can only put on so much muscle on your limited calories. After that, the scale will start dropping again.

Besides, you're losing over 6 pounds a week, that's pretty phenomenal.

Thanks butterthebean, I feel I'm doing ass I'm suppose to and I do track and log everything on my fitness pal. I'm staying at about 700-800 calories per day.

I'm not really bummed just didn't know how I am doing compared to everyone else.

It sounds to me like you're doing fantastic! Today starts my sixth week and I'm only losing 2-3 pounds a week. But my surgeon said I was doing really well, and he was extremely optimistic that I'd be able to achieve my goal weight.

I wouldn't worry so much about how fast it's going to happen. Everyone's body is different and everyone loses weight at a different pace. From what I've seen here, the people who weigh more tend to lose faster in the beginning. But we all taper off at some point.

I guess it was a stall. As of this morning I'm down 48lbs. Just under two months. 50lbs to go. I started out at 298. The dr said I should be around 190-200 I'm 6'2". Going in to talk with nut about how many calories I need to be getting. I'm only getting 700-800 now I've been keeping a really good excersize and food log with my fitness pal.

You are doing great - at the 3 month/100 day mark a lot of folks are at 50 lbs down, and you are already there. The 'magic' losing window - where it is easiest to get the weight off is 12-18 months. I would think that you will have been at goal for quite some time by then :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
