i haven't tried regular pretzals since my WLS - cuz they are addicting to me. i love them :)

But i saw advertised in one of those bariatric magazines - small bags of pretzals being sold - amongst many other foods too, seemed like a good deal. asked my NUT and she said they would be ok for me :)

of course now i don't remember where i saw the pretzals, but i'm sure i'll find it online somewhere amongst those other yummy foods NUT said were ok - still watch calories and stuff, but she said ok to eat. don't overindulge though, as with anything, moderation for our tummy - small amounts :)

take care ;)

I have 11 Pretzel Thins every day (110 calories) and I love love love them. Can't live without them. Moving to Amsterdam in a month and I'm taking a supply and anyone who comes to visit will not be let in the door unless they bring me a bag. They are not just good, for me, they make my tummy happy. Somehow, my stomach feels settled if I have a pretzel thin or saltine cracker. Lucky for me, I don't over indulge in them, but happy to grab a few several times a day.

I was in my church yesterday and when 9am service was over we have a fellowship right outside the sanctuary - iced tes, coffee, cake, Cookies, ect, this day I saw a bag of pretzels amongst everything else. It caught my attention because it was made by MEDIFAST so I

read the back and wow (I thought), I can eat these. 110cal, 2g fat, 13g carbs, AND 11g Protein (now that is what caught my eye).

I actually took a picture and sent it to my NUT & DOC, both said looks good...sounds good -

I was happy!! :D

The only my NUT said was try not to eat them everyday and one right after the other - I won't. But I just have now find out where to get them.

Hope this help you.

You can find Medifast online, they have their own website, there are some weight loss centers that carry Medifast products. If you live near a large city you may have luck finding a center. They sell several different snack type items. they also have crackers that have Protein in them, they are kind of bland but they have protein ;) you can also find Medifast products on EBAY.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
