I'm 13 days out tomorrow and the nerve pain in the incision is brutal! I'm trying to hold out until my 2 wk appt on Tuesday, but man this is the worst pain I think I've ever had!

I am 12 days post op and started feeling a pieecing pain on my right side as well but its not anywhede near my incision. Its almost as if i had a huge bruise in this spot and someone was pressing really hard in that area with their finger. The pain is probably two inches above and three inches away from my incision. It has bothered me all day to where i broke down and cried for fear that i may of pulled something internally on my sleeve.

That's how I feel but it starts right under the incision and goes around my back. Grrr.........I was doing so well!

Yes me too i felt like i was doing great considering the fact i struggled the first three days and had tl stay in the hospital but i can honestly say as far as much pain from the incision i havent had any. Its all been either gas(which is gone now) or lower back pain where i feel exhausted but now this pain has come along... Im glad to know that im not the only one feeling it and at that almost the exact amount of days out as you. I was so worried i maybe bent or turned wrong or lifted wrong. So i guess it has to be somewhat normal?

Gall bladder is good. I do take actigall twicw a day. I was told it is a little nerve damage and should subside.I was just fine until I got caught off guard with a huge sneeze. I pulled something I think. If I push the nerve in my back it does subside some. I have an appt Tuesday.

I saw the surgeon today. Since starting the preop diet I have lost 26lbs. Everything looks great. The right side pain is a pulled muscle and popped stitch caused by sneezing of all things! It is getting better but he says it will just take time. I was cleared for the treadmill and light weights so the gym will be my new friend! I started pureed foods today. I had tuna salad and cottage cheese. Mmmm! But I'M SOOOO STUFFED! It was delicious and I had no problems tolerating the heavier food.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
