'm almost three weeks out and combined with the six months pre-surgery, two week fast and 19 days post-op, I'm down 45 pounds. Hoot hoot!!!!!

My question to you all is how many of you have met the goal that you and your doctor set?

Thank you in advance!!

Me!! I started at 228 at my first pre-op appointment. (siminar and scheduling appt) I weighed 205 the day of surgery and my doctor's goal was 150. I reached that just a few days shy of five months. My goal was 145, I got there a month later. I am back up to 150, as of today. Summer has been brutal with vacation, family reunion and company. I started getting back to basics yesterday. I should be able to lose this 5 lbs to get back down to MY goal without much suffering, in a couple of weeks.

I am almost 14 weeks post op, have lost about 41lbs, and about 52 to go, to get to my goal of 130. I'm feeling very stressed and overwhelmed, like this is taking forever! I have sloped a few times with foods, bit for the most part i do the "right" eating habits, and work out a minimum of three days a week for an hour. I sure hope i can make my goal!!!

I'm 19 months post-op, hit my health goal of a normal BMI at 160, hit my personal goal of lowest adult weight at 150, and achieved my dream goal of 140. I have maintained between 136 and 138 since January. I started at 232 and have lost 96 lbs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
