The reason my doc requires two methods is that during the first few months of recovery you don't want to get pregnant because it is difficult to get enough. Nutrition to the baby early on. Both mom and baby can be at risk then. Further out its no biggie.

oooh... i couldn't do that, either.. IUD can puncture the uterus walls.. i like my uterus & that is what makes orgasms feel the way they do.. so i'm not risking it getting punctured, i don't care who i'm with. YIKES!

i also have a guy friend who was telling me about one of his past GF's.. they were having sex & the IUD she had ended up poking him right in his pee hole... needless to say, that kinda ended the mood for 'em & was very unpleasant for him.... lol

i've spent a lot of time studying sex and stuff. i know women *CAN* have orgasms without a uterus, but over the YEARS of research i've done, THOUSANDS of conversations and posts on forums and studies i've read.. they all say that it's "not the same" that it's "different" etc.. a lot of women can't orgasm or they're not as strong without their uterus. the uterus contracts when you have an orgasm.. that's also why too many orgasms while pregnant can lead to a miscarriage.

i've consulted with sex therapists, doctors, etc.. please don't assume that everyone on the internet is a total moron. sometimes i will just say things in a simple way, to get enough of my point across, so it can be easily understood & i don't have to write 100 pages about why i said what i said.

a lot of women who have had hysterectomies have regretted getting them, because their sex life has gone totally downhill because they can't get off... with or without their S/O..

you can do your own research. i'm not denying that you CAN have an orgasm without a uterus, but from everything i've read, women i've talked with, read posts from on various forums, and talked with doctors and therapists about.. it's not the same at all & because of that, i would *NEVER* want my uterus removed or damaged. IMO it'd be like a guy chopping off his testes or removing his prostate. it just wouldn't be the same.

I sense a definite loss which I could never have envisaged.

HRT definitely helped and I felt so much better in myself. It compensated for all the menopausal issues etc.

However, it might be worth noting that one year after the womb cancer, I got breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy so that didn't do a lot for my femininity lol

not every woman is like that. every woman experiences orgasms differently. i, personally, KNOW that i have uterine orgasms, so i'm not willing to personally risk something damaging my uterus. i *CAN* have other kinds of orgasms, too, but the ones where your uterus contracts are really amazing. it really depends on what kind of orgasms you have & are used to. some women don't have any change in their ability to orgasm.. others, like yourself are fortunate & have better orgasms.. but most commonly, i have found that women are disappointed with the quality of their orgasms, if they even have them at all.

i was *NOT* saying that if you don't have a uterus you *CAN'T* orgasm.. you CAN, but most women find the orgasms sub-par to what they were before. do your own research. not every woman is as fortunate as you are. you are lucky & i am happy for you.

I had an IUD, got it after my 2 year old was born. Had my sleeve in Feb 2012 and the IUD moved and I got pregnant (currently 10 weeks). My OB said it moved, because I lost so much weight (42kg). Luckily, the doc could remove it without hurting the baby and everything is going great!

The idea that female orgasm causes miscarriage is fundamentally untrue and in scholarly sources such as bernds & barash 1979 is only mentioned very tenuosly in regard to other mammals spontaneous abortions. further more this pseudo-scientific concept has been ignorantly misrepresented by male chauvinists such as Todd Akin to suggest that when women are raped the orgasm they recieve from the rape causes them to "shut the whole thing down.”

The female orgasm is still as much a mystery as the male nipple and unless you have been diagnosed with implantation trouble then feel free to enjoy your sexuality.

I use implanon contraceptive implant with my 7-year partner. It has the best contraceptive qualities, although the main reason for removal is troublesome bleeding. I haven personally experienced this...

Oh & yes some scarring of uterine lining may be responsible for decrease in libido and orgasm, however it is mostly associated with hormonal and psychological changes in the patient, so there is no definite either way.

I used to work at a family planning (non-abortion, just putting that out there) and I cannot tell you how many women came in thinking that they were having "no worries" sex with their IUD only to come in for an exam and it was either not in the right place to be effective, or it had completely fallen out altogether, like in the toilet or something....surprise!..... Now in regards to the Depo Provera injection, it's once every three months and a lot of women find it very convenient. There is a good chance that you will no longer menstruate after your body has time to adjust to the shot, however it can take several months and you may experience heavy bleeding for long periods of time...it's just a matter of waiting to see if your body will eventually stop. Implanon which is a small matchstick sized insert will go into the fleshy part if your arm and allay for a few years should you choose to keep it that long. Around with her hubby he put his knees on her arms and she twisted away and it messed up the placement and she had to have it removed....there are TONS of options out there. do some research I will be happy to answer any questions! Sorry I accidentally split my post.
