What's a zip fizz? I think soda and all carbonation is off limits for a long time or possibly forever. I do not miss soda at all, but I sure would love a beer in a frosty mug at some point in the future. However, if I can never have one again, it is a small price to pay to be at my goal weight some day!!

I would stay away. I had to get my band removed because all the carbonation made the band slip. It also caused me to have bad acid reflux. I have the sleeve now and I don't want the soda to stretch my stomach. Please listen to me because I was addicted to soda, it's not worth it!!!

I'd say stay away from both forever if possible, why risk it?

Thanks gustavo for sharing the link to Zip Fizz. Mosher62, It does not appear to be carbonated, so it may be okay from that standpoint. It looks like just another way of getting some of your Vitamins, especially B12 that is low carb, low sugar, low calorie. If that is the case then it is probably fine. I would check with your nutritionist or surgeon though.

Zipp-fizz etc sound a lot like what Michael Pollan would call "edible food-like substances"

Stick to real food and beverages!

Why wait 6 months or a year and stretch out the new stomach when you can have some the day of discharge and rip it open!!! Go for it ... Try not to die and get back vst let us know you did !

I was told six months to a year. It varies and each persons reaction does as well. If you do a search here you'll see many people are able to drink some carbonated beverage at some point. For me, my focus is champagne. The doc told me at least six months and then see how it feels. But again....it's all in moderation.

I would wait for a long time. I am not sure how far out of surgery you are, but, trust me, the carbonation is killer. I am almost 2 years post op and I only have the occasional sip if my hubby has ordered some when we go out to eat. Even this far out, I can only have a couple of sips. Any more, and my tummy hurts or I get heartburn from it.

Thanks for the replies, I was only asking because I miss my diet sprite, and the zipp fizz gives me the energy I need to work nights.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
