How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?

Recommended Posts

instead of milk, has anyone else tried mixing it with Almond Milk or Soy Milk? I like the Almond Milk, not too heavy feeling in the shakes.< /p>

I love almond milk. I use nectar chocolate powder (and mix it with banana cream powder a lot), and mix it with 1/2 Water and 1/2 almond milk and a little ice. My favorite shake by far.

I mix the vanilla unjury powder in the Silk Light Soy Milk.....yum yum. Like a glass of chocolate milk.

I could barely tolerate it. I added Crystal light to it. I bought the Alpine punch and added Crystal Light fruit punch too it.

I also used it as the Water in Jello and made my own Protein Jello.< /p>

The info here is so helpful. I'm 11 weeks out and struggling daily with Protein. Today I bout the Isopure RTD mango orange flavor and could not get thru 1/4 of it. Tomorrow I'll try adding crystal light that's good to know. I also bought a sample pack of the nectar powders to try so I'm hopeful those will be more tasty!

Personally I like my Isopure so when yours arrives chill it and try it with an open mind. the colder the better!

I like the isopure - but not a fan of the isopure smoothie as they are gritty and have nasty after taste.

Like said, colder the isopure the better and easier to choke down.

I was going to buy one of each flavor of the Isopure but based on these reviews and the high cost, I think I will spend my money elsewhere. Thanks for all the great feedback.

Try one everyone's taste buds are different I wouldn't recommend buying a ton of anything without trying it first. I just bought the unjury chicken mix. It is delicious taste just like a bowl of chicken Soup and has 21 grams Protein per scoop.

My sister LOVES the Isopure zero carb drinks. Don't let me gagging over them discourage you. Try one or two. It may be your savior in those early post-op days.

I suggest you try at least one because everyone has different tastes. Just remember to report back with your findings!

  I have your answer... http://www.cytosport...-ready-to-drink << it's a link to Cytosport's RTD whey Isolate drinks. Straight up... yum!

I was on a clear liquid diet for a LONG time and it sucked. I hate isopuke (my apologies to anyone who likes it but YEEEEAKKK) and I hate Protein bullets. But this drink in green (tropical) or orange (tangerine) ROCKS. I bought them at Vitamin Shop. They have a refrigerated section where you can buy these individually and try them. Try anything, but keep your receipt. You have 7 days and even if it's open and you hated it, bring it back for a refund. (hello, Protein bullets... how do you think I know their return policy?) And yes, your tastebuds DO change, so remember Vitamin Shop has a great refund policy (that stuff is expensive, any of that stuff that is!).

Good luck!

I drink the muscle milk light. The only other thing I found that I can stomach is a light chocolate milk my local supermarket sells with 20 grams of Protein. The problem is they are out of it half the time I go shopping. I am lactose intolerant too. Even though the muscle milk is dairy free, it goes right through me sometimes. I think it may be that it is so sweet.

That stuff actually looks really good on paper. How does it taste?

I would cut it with crystal light. It made it more bearable. I won't say good, but better than alone. Half of each worked for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
