You almost always weigh more from the Fluid they pump in through your IV. They say to expect about 5lbs gain. You'll lose it all as soon as you're home.

I was sleeved on Thursday. I drank cold tea today and it was a big mistake... my mouth filled with saliva and I dry heaved for 15 minutes. This is tougher than I thought it was going to be. I keep looking at the finish line, though, and that makes it easier. I am sore, thirsty, etc. Also, I didn't sleep well last night,a t all.

Well at least I know where all the global warming is comming from...all the gas we Gs members are putting out. I don't know about arm gas, but the other area just south of the arm....yea, I'm finding new ways to discreetly pass gas.

Oh and has anyone found they have to wait 30 min after any type of consumption to even lean back??? What's a good position to sleep in besides your back?

I was sleeved on Friday night. Huge gas bubbles, lots of pain and neausa! Anyone who says this is the easy easy way out is sorely mistaken! Ugh! Can't wait to feel better!

Walk walk walk and sip sip sip. My surgery was mon 8/13 and I still have gas pains but walking and burping really helps. Sipping as much as you can releases a lot of gas also. Hope this helps good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
