Parker's Dad 50 Posted August 18, 2012 I just wanted to throw this tid bit of thought in on this subject. This is not directed at the OP or anything but just a thought so.... I think that a lot of us don't really like looking at old overweight pictures. I have always been overweight so I was used to it. I look at them and to me it's my "normal" but I don't really like or truly hate what I see. Make sense?? I mean I wish I had not been overweight but it is what it is. I will never ever have the normal mentality of a person that has been skinny their whole life. As I said, I have always been overweight and looking back and thinking about it now, that has made me the person that I am today. I understand how things are and how people are and I have learned that the ones that love and accept me now for for me are people that are not that shallow or whatever. I know what is important and I know what it's like to be judged and I know where I want to go now and for the right reasons. I guess what I am trying to say is that we need to realize that we should never forget where we came from and what we learned along the way. We should never forget that we for the most part are the same person we always were but just less of it in mass. I look forward to being able to go thru with surgery and getting where I need to be for myself and my boy and the future. But with that thought in mind, I also will never forget who I was and what I have learned and the people that never saw me as just some overweight person that they wanted nothing to do with. I hope that made sense. I know it was kind of rambling but just a thought that I wanted to toss out there... 2 Tipintx and Thinner by Winter reacted to this
*susan* 1,709 Posted August 18, 2012 I get what you are saying, I think. I know there are people who wouldn't give me the time of day when I was 283 pounds, 100 pounds less and suddenly they were my best buddies, NOT! On the inside, I am still the same person, just with a different packaging now. If I wasn't good enough for you then, I sure don't want you in my life now. It is rare for me to find old pictures of myself, I was always so embarrassed of my weight, I avoided the camera at all costs. I still do, because in my mind, I still think I am going to look like that person I was three years ago. *susan* 1,709 Posted August 19, 2012 Wolfgirl, I am still really shy about posing for photos. I guess I still see myself as that really big girl, so I tend to stay away from the camera. Here is one I had taken with my daughter about twenty pounds ago. Sent from my iPad using VST 1 Justine13 reacted to this
