Tom Question For The Ladies

Recommended Posts

Okay, I am at such a loss!!!! I stalled out around 7/15/12 for about 2 weeks then around the 30th I lost 5 lbs then got down another 4lbs. In the last week I have gone UP 4 lbs. so in a month's time I have only lost 3lbs. I know it is around TOM and I started working out this past Monday, but anyone have any ideas on YYYYYY this is happening. I am getting anywhere from 800 to 1000 calories a day and about 40-60 grams of carbs. 60+ on Protein and 8-10 glasses of liquid (water w/crystal light or unsweet tea w/sweet n low). I am sooo frustrated please any advice would help, I am crying almost daily.

It happens to me all the time, completely normal. I stall for 1-2 weeks, lose a few, lose a few more and stall again. I try to mix it up when that happens, up my food intake a bit, change my workout routine and drink a couple more glasses of Water, normally breaks the stall in a couple days for me. I feel your pain....it sucks! Give it a try and see of it helps. The TOM doesnt help either, I normally retain a few lbs of water weight then too! Best of luck and hugs to you!

This is how I feel exactly today! I feel my TOM coming and I always get symptoms a week before including the bloating so I've been going from 222-224 and it's frustrating! I wanna be under 220 already . Started working out this week and it feels good.

That's great! I'm wondering if I'm a considered a slow loser ? 28 pounds in since preop and got sleeved July 7, so that's 20 pounds since my sleeve date (6 weeks)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
