3 Days Post-Op And Amazed

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on 8/14 and came home yesterday. I am completely amazed that I ate my last pre-op meal on Monday at noon and as of right now I have not felt a single twinge of hunger. I don't know how long this lasts but I am enjoying every second of it!

My surgery went well, my doctor was very pleased. Recovery is kind of rough but I know I will feel better each day. I only threw up twice in the hospital and I haven't had any queasiness since the car ride home. I haven't taken anything for pain today, although I may need to soon.

I have followed doctors orders to the letter and can not wait for the weight to start coming off! It felt like eternity for the day to get here and now it seems like it may have been a dream.

Yay, I am sleeved!!!

Hey we're sleeve sisters! I was sleeved on Tuesday and came home yesterday. Feeling great, just

trying to follow doctors orders of the liquid diet. The only pain I do get is the gas pain. But I go for walk with my kids they are younger and enjoy the walks. Best wishes!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
