No Wt Loss In 9 Days...... Only Little Over 4 Weeks Out?

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering if this is normal? Any suggestions on how I can get back to losing a lb or 2 a day lol! I was doing great up to 9 days ago and now I'm in a stand still, haven't loss anything and I'm only a little over 4 weeks post op. I thought you didn't hit plateaus til couple months out. I think its bc my scale knows I want to get into the 2's, :D

This is completely normal. It's about the time when I had my big stall. Mine lasted for about 4 weeks. All I can say is make sure you're getting all of your liquids in, Protein first, watch your carb intake, and exercise(walk, don't know what your dr released you for). It will start coming off again. I am just about 4 months out and I drop at least 2 to 3 pounds a week. Just stay focused on the main prize.

My nine day stall began at the end of week two! Just started moving again yesterday. I asked my surgeon about at yesterday's post op visit and he assured me that it is normal.

I had a stall at 3 weeks and it can be disheartening but just hang in there it will pass. Just keep with the program and it will start to come off again.

I have been stuck recently too, and am trying my best not to be frustrated. This is the dreaded 3-4 week stall! It happens to most people and if you just be persistent your weight loss will eventually start up again. It just takes time. Do you measure? Maybe you are still losing inches.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
