JewelsInLove 0 Posted September 14, 2006 I have a system. I walk a mile and do an aerobics video daily. I have a few videos so I don't get too bored. I am still on pre op, so I don't want to lift weights yet. Any ideas on keeping your motivation?
marys 2 Posted September 14, 2006 What motivates me is variety and accountability - I love meeting others for an exercise class or if I can afford it - pay for personal training - and right now I just started training for 1/2 marathon - it will be quite challenging as my cardio endurance is practically nill but I feel good every time I train. Training for a 5K or training for a walk a thon - it's all the same - you commit to stick to your training schedule and sign up for the event ahead of time, tell everyone you know and you're committed. I signed up for the body for life challenge many years ago and entered their contest 4 times - every 6 weeks - I looked and felt like a true body builder - that was highly motivating - taking pics - keeping workout journals, I also allow myself one cheat day a week - where I can eat pretty much what I want (of course, not stuffing etc.) IF and only IF i stick to my workout plans all week - that's motivating too. Good Luck!
