Well I found out I had gallstones 4 weeks after surgery so tomorrow morning I will be going in again at 5 weeks out to have my gallbladder removed. I wasn't happy about this but nothing I can do about it. I would rather have it taking care of before there's a major problem. It wasn't due to the wls, as I've been having some of these feelings for a while now and plus I haven't lost enough weight to cause that problem. Well I have to be at the hospital at 8:30am so I'm going to get it together and go to bed. I'm not worried right now but I know that will change in the morning when I get to the hospital. Good nite all.

I agree, the gallstones cannot be due to your WLS, they had to be there beforehand. How did they find out that you had gallstones? In my case, it took an abdominal ultrasound, which was performed PRIOR to my WLS. They removed my gallbladded at the same time they did my sleeve. Didn't they do an abdominal ultrasound before you had your sleeve? If so, why didn't they just take out your gallbladder when you had the sleeve done? Putting you through two surgeries is insane. I really feel for you.

I had mine removed with my sleeve. I didn't even know I had gallstones but they did the ultrasound prior to my sleeve surgery. my dr told me that is best I get it out with my sleeve bc big weight loss causes gallstones and he said I would probably have an attack a few weeks after my sleeve surgery and I would have to get it put then... he said might as well kill two birds with one stone and get it out with my sleeve so I wouldn't have to get surgery twice

Mine was so bad the surgeon said it was STUCK to my stomach and it was all diseased and inflamed and there was evidence of a recent attack and prior pancreatitis (never knew that).

I got so used to saying after meals "Oh my stomach hurts- must be my gallbladder." LIved that way for so long.

I've been so proactive about health but in some ways (that) so dumb.

Well, actually I also put it off knowing they'd be doing it at same time as WLS...

GB removal is a total breeze compared to VSG. You'll be very happy it's out. Acclimate slowly to trigger foods - some people have "phantom" attacks for a while (I didn't but I've seen them happen).

They did not do an ultrasound before my wls. But I started having pain on my right side and wanted to make sure it wasn't something with the wls. They did an ultrasound and found stones. Well I had my surgery this morning and all went well. I'm home and resting. I'm glad it's over, now I can truly heal and enjoy my sleeve journey.

Glad to hear it all went well. I think most of us fear a possible trip "back to the garage" for a gallbaldder operation. So sorry you had to. Good luck and speedy recovery.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
