The final straw so to speak was calling myself being on a diet and I would lose 5 lbs and then magically gain it back overnight. I was tired of gaining and losing the same 20 lbs over and over again. I was also tired of not eating as much as everyone else yet gaining weight. I was no longer even able to maintain so I got tired threw up my hands and aid "f" it

Well for me

After 3 years working out on avg 5-4 days a week and following my macros with no improvement. Also, i found out that my bp is high and am only 30 and with a pre diabetic!

Thats on the health side , on the other hand i found that i am young and i could not lose weight or fat on my hips I can't lose it when i become older!

And the straw was really silly when i tear my jeans ! I really consider surgery as a solution for this disease that i have been struggling with over the past 20 years!

Stepping on the scale and finding out that I weigh more now then I did when I was pregnant with my twins 12 years ago.

1) My lower back pain makes it hard to do daily activities.

2) I want to be able to keep up with my young children and fit husband.

3) It would be nice to go shopping in any store, rather than looking for stores that cater to plus size.

4) My brother had 3 strokes last year at 29 yrs old. I'm about to turn 28 and am terrified.

5) I want to jump on a trampoline without being scared I'll break it. I want to stop being afraid to fall down. I want to run. I want to hike. I don't want to keep sitting in my living room anymore.

I've managed to get significant weight off twice in the last 10 years, but I always find it again. Hopefully this kind of commitment will change me and the way I see food permanently.

Your post sounds like my doc visit, lol. I knew when I was told I was prediabetic and that I was 3/10 of a point away from having full blown diabetes according to my A1C... I also had sleep apnea as well as cardiac issues. I was only 38 years olds d said no this will not control me any longer. And fast forward to now I don't regret a thing.

Blood glucose reached 108 (pre-diabetic), elevated liver enzymes indicative of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and obstructive sleep apnea. When you're too fat to sleep and breathe at the same time, then it's time to make a major change.

Rollercoasters.
I took my kids (loose term, 15 & 16.5 both 6'1") to Universal last year and had to have the ride attendants squeeze, cram, and stuff me into a few rides. I fit (so I sit) but it was very uncomfortable and there were a few that I just couldn't ride.

I've always been a 'larger' guy but that definition has been stretching over the years. There are MANY things I want to be able to do, but those rollercoasters sealed the deal.

I wrote out a list of things I want to do when I made this decision. Things like ride rollercoasters, fit in the band's t-shirts when we go to concerts, wear pants from the 'regular' section, not hide in photos, get off CPAP, be able to hike a trail without knee pain, get out and enjoy life, and live a little longer for my wife and boys.

I just started this journey and have my surgeon meeting March 15th. I am nervous as hell but I can not wait to get started!

everything especially loosing 60 pounds only to put back on 80 over the next year and a half.... then when I heard about the Sleeve, I knew it was for me. A couple years of looking into bypass and not being able to do that to myself. Talked to Sleevers and researched it and was ready to go.... while waiting the 6 months for surgery a 4yr old asked, "Why are your legs so big?" that sealed the deal for me.

My sons so interested in my Fat legs, my BMI IS 31/32 but my legs are huge. He touched them and said "these are like Jello" ?. ughh My sleeve is booked for the 23rd this month.

My Dad had his first heart attack at 40 years old & i have a history of heart disease and obesity on both sides of the family. I was 38, had been on Blood pressure meds for 8 years, was pre-diabetic, battling my cholesterol & weight, even though I was active (Yoga 2-3 times per week, Dance 2 times per week) and terrified.

My Dad is 54 now..he's had a few heart attacks since then and they want to put a pace maker in. I know genetically, I may still have heart trouble...but i don't have to HELP it along in killing me!

Good for you for taking the steps to prevent heart disease! My brother had a heart attack at age 45. I am 47 and before surgery I felt like a ticking time bomb. So happy to now have my doctors tell me my heart is healthy!

I was 29 and felt like a ticking time bomb. With everything wrong with me, 40 didn't seem guaranteed.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
