I was wearing 54 DDD Playtexwhen I started losing, but I now know I was measuring wrong. Now I am wearing 42 GG. Went through a 46 K in between. Read it and weep, girls - I hope I get down to a 36 C!

You girls have nothing to complain about- Try dragging 44Gs around! I hope they go first. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

You are right. I now feel reduced to wearing band-aids.

When the weight drops your back is going to LOVE you!

Oh my! Long boobs! Mine will probably be dragging the ground by the time all is said and lost. My present to myself for my 39.5 birthday will be a boob job- (lift,nip, tuck, whip em up) whatever they need after I lose. I say 39.5 so they will be healed by my actual 40th bday ;)

Well first at my highest weight, i went to the doctors they weighed me and said oh 222lbs! what a lucky number and i almost died i couldnt believe it. so i went on medifast wasted about $2000 because i lost 40lbs then gained back 35. Now my 6yo daughter is playing soccer and tennis (so did I in high school) and i just miss being active. I miss going swimming, im too hot in the summer always wearing pants and short sleeves. I just want to be normal again, about 8 years ago i was at a good weight for myself about 125lbs and i want that back!!

I guess I'm the camel because it is my back that is breaking. I just turned 59 and my back is in such bad shape I can hardly move around anymore. I have spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and arthritis in my spine. I have already had two cervical surgeries with fusion and cadaver bone implant and one lumbar surgery. I now have two more herniated discs in my lumbar spine,. I know I would not be suffering like this if I were 100 lbs. lighter. I am also on two blood pressure meds.

I have been fat all my life and it is time to make a change if I want to see my son get married and make me a grandchild. Yesterday was my 59th birthday and I just went for it. I started the process. Can't wait!

I had dinner with a former co-worker (from about 12 years ago). We had talked on Facebook, and I knew she had lost her job after 17 years (a couple of years before) and I knew she had gained weight. My husband and I went to dinner at her house and she was a lot bigger than I imagined. Last time I saw her she was probably 225, maybe 250... she was probably 450. She couldn't hardly walk, she could barely stand, and she said getting a job at this point wasn't going to happen for her because she can barely leave the house. The worse part is when she was walking us out and her sock slipped on her foot and she had to ask her husband to fix it, and he grunted. Yep, he grunted. I took her out to lunch a few weeks later, with another old co-worker and we had to make sure the restaurant had a ramp of some sort not a step up off the curb. She wasn't able to wear the seat belt and the car dinged, and dinged until we fastened it behind her. I really felt horrible for her, to the point of hurting on the inside. Then I started thinking about myself, and I'm wanting to retire early... and I have a very physical job - what is going to happen to me when I quit working? Will I end up bedridden? Seeing her, brought out fear in me. She is trying to get disability, she has some severe back issues that led to her losing her job. I think her hubby would run if he could, he didn't seem very caring or compassionate and I knew this couple when they started dating and was at their wedding. Seeing her brought out a panic inside myself. I actually started another diet, that I couldn't follow... the past couple of years I can diet a few weeks lose 10 pounds, then get stuck and poof, 10 pounds are back on.

Then one day at work, a guy I work with, met me outside in the parking lot, grinning from ear to ear asking me if I could keep a secret. He told me he was having gastric bypass and the first thing I said is... oh, that is so dangerous! He said, they do it laparscopically now and he was planning on returning to work in 10 days, and I said you are kidding. I started researching immediately and was planning on the RNY until I went to the seminar and then I swapped plans. I talked to my husband and decided that I was going for it, and if the doors opened I would walk right through. My appt with my PCP was end of May, a few days after my conversation with the co-worker. My appt with the endocronologist was a week later, and he sent me to the NUT and Psychiatrist. I went on vacation right after those first appts and started thinking of all I could do next year when we go back. (The endocronologist had made the comment that I would be 100 lbs smaller in a year.) I can go up the stairs without being totally out of breath and hurting (was having bad foot pain). I can climb all the lighthouses (I climbed one, and the old people were going up faster than me... I was the slowest one there). I can horseback ride. I can kayak. I can grow older feeling younger than I do now.

So here's a new one. Let me preface this by saying I HATE going into the bank. Everytime I do the teller says something dumb and/or intrusive and I end up pissed off for the rest of the day. I don't go in often as I do most of my banking via ATM because if I actually had to go into the bank on a regular basis I would much rather run through a burning building that's how annoying they are. And it's not just me- my boyfriend goes in and the same thing with the dumb questions plus flirting with him. Don't know when this whole thing started at the bank because it wasn't like this before. Anyway I go into the bank to get my certified check for my surgery today. I'm standing in line knowing something dumb will be said to me before I exit the door. I get to the window and the younger girl asks me what I would like to do and I tell her so the process is started. After a couple minutes of tapping her keyboard and filling out the withdrawal slip she asks for my ID which I give her. She them continues doing what she has to do, then decides to comment on my picture- "You look different?! Did you take that picture in high school?" It wasn't just what she said it was the way she said it. I'm not ultra sensitive either, I'm aware when a female is trying to throw an insult. Instead of taking my ID back and telling her to go f-@; herself, I decide to say no (I took that license picture in 08 and didn't need to go in for a renewal last year so it's the same). Then proceeds again to say you look different. She then asks me if I'm buying a house with the money, so I pause and give her a look to let her know I'm done with her and say no. Ultimately She thanks me for my 17 years banking with them, I get my check leave and immediately call the manager to speak with her about the situation. She proceeds to say people take other peoples ID all the time and even I had a lady today who had lost a lot of weight and didn't look like her picture. Ok if that's the case then say that. Don't tell me I look like I'm in high school (which by the way was 17 years ago) that means I look the same just older which means I look like my ID picture and you shouldn't be questioning me anyway. There is a tactful way of you are questioning my identity since I know that's their concern. So not only is the teller dumb the manager is too. I'm closing my account there while I'm off for my surgery. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

My main inspiration for the sleeve is to take control of my health, and make it better. I want to be able to sit in any chair without thinking "is this going to be the day that I embarrass myself and my beautiful wife by breaking the chair, falling to the floor, and needing help to right myself?". It stops, NOW! And from that point I anxiously await my date with the best surgeon, minus the dinner and a movie.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
